'Leo Tolstoy’s ‘War and Peace’ and other classic historical novels that portray the Russian military in anything other than a negative light will be banned from being taught in Ukrainian schools, it has been announced.

“All these will be completely excluded from foreign literature,” first deputy Minister of Education Andrey Vitrenko said in an interview with the TV channel Ukraine 24.

“So, for example, ‘War and Peace,’ this will not be studied in Ukraine anymore,” he added.

Vitrenko said that his ministry was working on compiling a list of books that will be banned in line with an announcement last month by Kiev’s Ministry of Culture and Information Policy that works of literature “promoting Russian propaganda” would be removed from Ukrainian libraries and replaced by Ukrainian books.

Quite how banning a book that is revered the world over and was first published in 1869 will stop Putin’s war machine is anyone’s guess.'

I am 100% against Putin invading Ukraine proper.

But the West's insistence in making Ukraine out to be the 'good guys' in this mess is ridiculous.

Neither side are 'the good guys'.
It is just that Putin is a much worse 'bad guy' than Zelinskyy is.
But they are BOTH, lousy leaders who run corrupt, fucked up countries.

And America should - except for humanitarian aid - not be getting involved or choosing sides in that quagmire.

We have no dog in that fight & sending Ukraine $billion$ in cash & military equipment is an extraordinarily stupid thing to do.
How many of those missiles & other arms will end up in the hands of enemies?
They are depleting our arsenal during a supply crises & following Cloward/Piven's plan to bankrupt our country while we suffer massive inflation.
Controlled demolition & the programmed sheeple are oblivious

I piss on Little and Great Russia with equal enthusiasm.

Hell, Javelin missiles earmarked for Ukraine have already turned-up in Syria.....15K a pop. I'm sure that's just a taste of what they have sold to arms dealers that operate out of Turkey.

What school ever teaches War and Peace? That book is like 1400 pages long. 1 copy takes up an entire shelf in the library.

It is irrelevant if War and Peace is actually taught in Ukrainian schools.
The point is that a fictional book from long ago is being banned from EVER being taught in Ukraine...simply because the author and it's subject matter are Russian.
Once you start banning books...when does it stop?

Well it does matter if you ban something that is not happening, be it War and Peace or Critical Race Theory. It stops wherever the state says it stops. Their country, their rules.

So...you are against free speech and the Constitution.
Good to know.
Bye now.
