Apparently the carers of the mentally disabled perpetrator had been standing behind him, totally absorbed in their mobile phones.

At least the victim's family can sue....Sorta, as likely it would go before a crown controlled tribunal.

I was working at my retirement job at the Pittsburgh Zoo when this unfortunate accident happened. The mother let her child slip from her arms into the African wild dog exhibit and I`m glad that I wasn`t in the area. Some of the keepers are on a kill team who have quick access to firearms, and they put two of the dogs down. The rest were sent to other zoos.

Police arrested a man from Norfolk, who was believed to not know the child, on suspicion of attempted murder.

The suspect is believed to have learning disabilities and had been on a trip to the zoo with carers.

He was released on bail until 18 September, and police said he was "assessed as not being fit for interview".

People may be considered unfit for interview because of their physical or mental state.

As learning disabilities are involved, my money is on him being a Left winger.

but no one says boo about who is reponsible for that. THere is no followup or accountablity.
