The West is making sure the current Pakistan government remains in power. Despite having nukes, Pakistan's real enemy is India vice versa and India and China are also enemies. Strange part is this bromance between Russia and China is just window dressing. India has a cozy relationship with Russia, hence the BrahMos missile, which is a thorn for China. As long as Pakistan doesn't collapse, all is good.
