Uber: Dutch watchdog fines app €290m for driver data transfer
The Dutch watchdog said the transfers were a "serious violation" of EU data protection regulation.

Thats a lot of money but perhaps not in UBER terms.
I do not understand how they got into this pickle.
Maybe they skimped too much on the admin side too much.
People hand over their details in good faith. They should not have that faith trashed by high hnded corporaions.
Europe is not an American outpost. Uber would do well to remember that.
