In a Republic, actually
“The censure resolution cites Gonzales’ rejection of a border security proposal by fellow Texas Republican Rep. Chip Roy, and his support of a bill for same-sex marriage protections and a bipartisan gun safety law.”

This issue, of course, isn’t whether Gonzales is right or wrong about his positions on the proposals, it’s that in the Republican-controlled authoritarian state of Texas a lawmaker can be subject to punishment for voting in good conscience and failing to comply with conservative dogma.

The magaturd wars have begun. They are full swing eating their own now. It's delicious.

At least conservatives are consistent with their neo-fascist authoritarianism – everyone must be forced to conform, whether a party member or not.
whats the matter jones?....to embarrassed to say what state you live in?...and your piece of shit party is the same way....everyone must be forced to conform, whether a party member or not.

Adam_Clayton hasn’t grasped why the respective political Parties in Congress have “Whip” positions in the two houses.

Hint: voting as the elected members individually believe is right ain’t a part of that analysis, Adam.

It’s classic textbook fascism – Night of the Long Knives: dissent will not be tolerated; all must be compelled to conform.

They actually censured the Republican House Rep from Uvalde for voting in favour of the Democrat gun control legislation.
