The first thing missing in Blinken's plan that needs to be considered is what it will take for Russia to go nuclear.

Blinken therefore needs a plan that will prevent Russia from taking that step.

And of course after Russia takes the first step that is promised by Russia/Putin, there can be no plan other than a plan to stop the incoming enroute to America.

Blinken's plan misses the point completely because he doesn't concentrate on coming up with a plan that speaks to the question of Russia's need to go nuclear.

De Santis is indicating now that he's going to be a candidate for the R nomination. That simply means that he doesn't consider that Trump is going to be able to survive the FBI/DOJ attempt to bring Trump down.

Biden is now obviously more of a threat to nuclear war with Russia than Trump would ever be. But Trump's chances have just become very dim as De Santis is taking the opportunity to go for all the marbles.

My personal preference is in imagining that Russia will use a tactical nuclear weapon on the Ukraine and there will be no response in kind from the US.

Most likely. Ukraine isn't an ally. Now if Putin uses a nuke on the US, or a NATO member; we would have to. But its doubtful that the US or another NATO member is going to risk a direct nuclear strike on their own country, over a few square miles of irradiated Ukraine.

For example, Blinken can't be allowed to have some erroneous plan in which America destroys Russia with nuclear weapons, and then the world lives happily ever after.
