Well said, over the past few years I've noticed that the truth of some claim has become far less important than the utility of making the claim. If some claim gets a desired outcome then it doesn't matter if it's true or not, that's the mentality I see on those platforms and here in this forum.

I think people can look for themselves for the accuracy of what other people post on social media. It's not like those who get their news from legacy media are bright, intelligent and correct. Outside of the government itself, name a group/organization that puts out more wrong information than the media?
And it's not the government's job to shut that down.
Trump and Putin colluded to steal the 2016 election, you can't get or spread COVID if you take the vaccine, COVID came from eating bats from a wet market, men can get pregnant. Two can play that game. It's funny in a way that you only think the other side deals in misinformation/disinformation. You deal with those falsehoods by showing the truth. You don't let the government, who are the biggest liars in the game, get to determine what's true and can be said and what's not.
