Minneapolis/St. Paul, MN - The Minnesota Twins announced today that they have agreed to terms with designated hitter Jim Thome on a one-year contract for the 2011 season.

Thome, 40, batted .283 (78-for-276) with 16 doubles, two triples, 25 home runs and 59 rbi in 108 games with the Twins last season. With his 25 home runs, he passed Rafael Palmeiro, Harmon Killebrew, Mark McGwire and Frank Robinson, and currently ranks eighth on the All-Time list.
