I think the climate is just fine the way it is. It's been functioning, as is, since the beginning of its existence. I don't think turning deserts green would have much impact on the global climate.

Now it may not be a bad idea on a regional level in terms of food production and general beautification. But nature has a way of reclaiming itself over time.

But I suppose it wouldn't hurt to test the theory in key areas and see what happens.
