Oswald abandoned his post as a US Marine while working on the U-2 program in Japan. He renounced his citizenship and fled to Russia and shortly after, U-2 pilot F.G. Powers was shot down over Russia. Coincidence or CIA conspiracy? You almost gotta scratch your head that Oswald came back to the good old USA with his new bride who happened to be the daughter of a KGB officer and was welcomed back by the Kennedy administration in the hottest time in the cold war instead of being incarcerated as a freaking traitor. WTF happened?
How did Oswald get back into the US since he renounced his citizenship?
It was never processed. The embassy staff correctly guessed that he was an idiot who would regret his decision and wish to return to the US which is precisely what happened.
They simply kept the paper work in a file somewhere and never made it official, then they threw igt away when he asked to return. So it never happened.
To renounce your citizenship is a big deal.. You have to appear before a judge.
In Oswald’s case it’s much bigger than that. First, he was a US Marine involved in top secret work with the U2. Second, it was the height of the Cold War, third he is the only US Marine to ever defect to the USSR, fourth he was allowed to return to the US without any government evaluations or interference at the height of the Cold War, fifth he even was allowed to bring his Soviet wife, sixth he was met by CIA agents upon his return to the States who then managed to get him various jobs, seventh he was on the payroll of the CIA.
