Well that’s the case being laid out by John Mearsheimer. Take a listen for yourself. This is a qualified academic from the university of Chicago who is not a random person on the Internet. He talked about how he had an article he gave to the Atlantic that was supposed to run, but it got shut down due to higher-ups in the Atlantic apparently being worried about how the Israeli lobby would view it.

Relevant part starts at about the 1 hour 12 minute mark…. The video is also divided into chapters so you can easily scroll to the parts about Israel.

Part of the point that Mearsheimer makes is that yes there are times when Israel and the USA have similar interests, but there are other times when they do not have similar interests, but in those situations the power of the Israeli lobby over rules and Israel gets whatever it wants from America. A very unique thing in history.

In the present time is there is an undeniable divide between the American people and the American government when it comes to supporting Netanyahu. Large numbers of American Democrats and Republicans oppose funding the Israeli war in Gaza, whereas large numbers of Democrat and Republican politicians support funding the war in Gaza.

As Mearsheimer points out, Israel is faced with a dilemma. They can either attempt to change peoples opinion or they can change their own policy toward Gaza. Part of the big problem of the first choice is too many of the pro Israel. People have no dialogue whatsoever They just scream Nazi or antisemitic people. You also have simpleton people in the West who have their reasons for supporting Israel such as they will say “Palestinians will not be happy until every Jew is dead” that’s a a complete propaganda. Or they will say things like “God gave the Jews all that land”. Those ladder group of people are among the most selfish people in America and really difficult to be around with.

Some in Israel do you want to see their policy toward Gaza changed but to that point you have the Netanyahu propaganda of claiming Jews would face extinction, which of course is complete propaganda as Hamas is utterly incapable of taking Israel let alone defending Gaza.

This is the one part of your post that is not entirely accurate.

About a year ago, a pretty non-partisan polling outfit run by American Educated (CIA) trained Arabs in Ramallah I believe? . . . did some polling in the West Bank and Gaza.

Even if the poll's sample was exceedingly small and had bias, there is still probably more than enough evidence that, yeah, a majority of Palestinians don't want the Jewish State to exist. That was the situation several decades when they elected Hamas, and it still seems to be the situation today. . . .

. . but, with that said, much of the population of Israel looks to feel the same about them.

I’ve certainly said before that there are racist on both sides. The difference is that the ones in Israel have all the military power.

But For a host of reasons and optimism perhaps included… I think most in Israel and Palestine are normal every day people. Course I could be a bit off. We have polls we also have real events like the IDF campaign in Gaza…. The fact that none of the Arab states have come to the military assistance of the people of Gaza. And Oct 7 has its issues like how did that occur in the most monitored area of the world ….but either way There’s certainly some level of hatred from Both Gaza and Israel to your point.

Every Palestinian and Israeli I meant including in Southeast Asia, did not come off and being some kind of a supremacist

Who is he and why should I care?

You seemed to have forgotten that part!

I think you look for any excuse to trash Israel.

". . . The term came back into political discourse through the rhetoric of religious right-wing extremists from the settlement movement, many of whom were elected into office in the second half of the 2000s. The most notorious of them is Bezalel Smotrich, who now holds the position of Finance Minister, with unprecedented powers over settlement policy in the West Bank. He said in an old interview featured in a documentary by the French-German channel Arte, that he dreamed of a “Greater Israel that would extend from the Nile and the Euphrates”, with the limits of the Jewish Jerusalem extending all the way to the Syrian capital of Damascus. In March 2023, Smotrich sparked controversy by giving a speech to a group of pro-Israel activists in Paris from a podium decorated with the map of Jabotinsky’s “Greater Israel” from the old Irgun emblem, including Palestine and Jordan. . . The Likuds (Netanyahoo) are the permanent war party...Imagine if we were still stuck with Chimpola Bush running the show.

And you look for any excuse to suck Israel's dick -right or wrong- at any given opportunity.

What if - just WHAT IF - they aren't the great ally that you have imagined them to be?

The only real solution at this point in history is to offer all the citizens a green card(about ten milliion_). Sorry but the entire middle east of literally dozens of countries don't want them their and that is just reality.

Lets bring them to the United states
Give them a green card.

Lets give Palestine the land.

my all time fave idiot comment of the year----NO MUSLIM COUNTRY CAME TO THE
"aid" of GAZA??? ------

This relationship is based in religion, all clumsy denials and spin aside.

Mixing politics and religion is always a bad idea. As we know. All we have to do is look around us, and look at world history. But we refuse to look, and we refuse to learn.

We should ban religion. The world would be a much better place! Most of this bullshit wouldn't be happening.

No one during the discussion mentioned the fact that UNRWA was found directly involved in the October 7th Attack on Israel,
or it was found the UNRWA aid to Palestine went directly to the building of tunnels some of which were directly under UNRWA headquarters in Gaza.
