Dave, imo, Robert Lighthizer pretty well summed up the Trump trade deal with Jina. If the Chinese moderates win out, it's a good deal for all, if the Chinese hardliners win out … we're fucked.

On Sunday, Lighthizer indicated the objective was to tie the two economies closer together.

"The way to think about this deal, is this is a first step in trying to integrate two very different systems to the benefit of both of us," the trade chief said.

We're not bringing back textile jobs that pay at most a dollar an hour in Asia. That was just Trump bs. mftring employment is trending bpretty much on a even keel since the end of the recession. We lost a ton of jobs from 2000 to 2010, but ironically overall mftring output grew.

However, the gain in manufacturing from 2011 through 2019 has been steady and slow, so the Trumpsettes beating their tiny chests is hyperbole rather than reality. But again in terms of overall numbers of jobs …. mftring just isn't where the jobs are: Trump or no Trump
