Trump’s Tomato Tarrif

The season for tomato growing is winding down. I get mine in my garden, supplemented by the farmers market. Large slicing varieties stop setting fruit when soil temps exceed 80 degrees.
Without a greenhouse they can’t be grown in winter.

I pity the people who are "forced to eat shitty tomatoes" during this time of year. I jar about 90 qts. a year and eat tomatoe sandwiches almost every day in August. This place is lousy with great tomatoes right now.
I planted extras of several things, including tomatoes, in anticipation of scarcity. Wish I hadn't now. So sick of processing tomatoes. Been giving a ton away. Corn is starting to come in now too. Potatoes were the only thing that were a real bust in the field this year. All the rain over the last several weeks have the pumpkins jumping so I will be inundated with them in due course.

So you’re freaking out a pound of tomatoes costs a dollar? What the **** do you think it should be? The ******* things are planted, grown, picked, cleaned, shipped and then put on the shelves and paid the store someone to stock, run the register, keep the lights on and bag them up for you and you’re thinking a ******* dollar is too much?

You’re retarded.
You claimed they went from .78 to .79 cents.

That was untrue.
