Trump's taxes.

Good news for Trump. Congress is finally going to get a look at his taxes, and he will finally have the opportunity to show proof that he didn't cheat or act unethically in any way. We have all seen how he couldn't show this information, no matter how much he wanted to before because he was under audit. I don't know exactly what happened, but I'm sure he will be celebrating this turn of events tonight.

The tax code provides that Congress’ tax committees—including the House Committee on Ways and Means, the Senate Committee on Finance, and the Joint Committee on Taxation (JCT)—are entitled to obtain any tax returns from the IRS that they request.3 Section 6103(f)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) reads:

Progs have always been sticklers for crossing the T's and dotting the I's. Except for themselves. Wasting time thinking they are self important working in a job where you never sweat a second unless you are a pure drunk, drug addict or having some form of sex. U closed down the country and had to print of untold trillions of dollars. And still have to. The inflation is just beginning and it is up a good amount now. All of this because you believe in the propaganda. If our nation was healthy, the inflation would not be occurring at all and that is just the beginning of the problems.

There are a few things that could come to light, potentially, that might not be covered by traditional IRS audits:
  • I don't know if IRS auditors have gone so far as to check the accusation that he manipulated commercial real estate values to maximize insurance and minimize taxes. That would be a problem, but I can't imagine it would matter politically.
  • I suppose sources of income, rather than how it was reported, could mean something, if the money came from unsavory sources or global adversaries. That wouldn't necessarily be illegal, but it could possibly advance a storyline about him.
  • Without having legal ramifications, the documents could point to a man and an organization who are far more in debt and far weaker financially than they have been leading people to believe. That certainly wouldn't be a surprise, but it's not actionable.
Or they really don't find much of anything. My wild-ass guess is that there won't be any blockbuster news from this, though.
so, basically, you don't know your ass from a hole in the ground----thanx 4 admitting that, but we already knew that....why do you type lie after lie?

Then we need to see Pelosi's.

Not ignoring. SCOTUS said that the legislature just has to have sufficient reasoning to make the request. The administration determined that such reason existed.
haha yeah…what is that? what’s changed?

It’s detailed in the OLC memo.

It also notes that the problems from such a request rested on the legislature asking a sitting president for their taxes.

What changed is that Trump is no longer a sitting president. There go separation of powers issues.
It doesn't say anything about a seperation of powers issue...

It does say he left office...but that's the only thing that changed.

The Court made clear, in it's prior ruling on the issue, that Congress did not give enough reasons for why they wanted the records. They didn't add additional reason in this request...all that changed is the new admin.

The issue is discussed on pages 27-29

The Court ruled that they didn’t have enough reasons to grant records for a sitting president. Furthermore, the Court ruled that treasury CAN deny the request, not that it MUST deny the request.

To see if the person is a crook, was a crook while in office.
Nixon wasn't investigated until 1974, months after he left office.
Turns out, he was a crook.

If tramp would be involved in the Watergate Scandal, he would get congratulated about it by the cultists.
Remember when you circus side-show freaks paid the worlds greatest investigator $50 million to find dirt on Trump? Do you remember that he couldn’t? Do you think he saw Trumps tax returns?
Get it together TDS’ers....it’s time to find sanity.

The law states there has to be a clear intent of why they need to see it. They don’t have a legitimate reason. It’s more witch hunt, and an attempt at intimidation.

Yes, I'm sure he is looking forward to showing he's been on the up and up all along.
