“Somehow”.And evidently this 13k was out in the open but somehow was found askew of a poorly worded vague overreaching federal law.
Giving a judge a tip for ruling the way you like is bribery.
“Somehow”.
Yeah, funny how that happens when you are a bunch of conservative justices who don’t agree with how Congress has exerted their constitutional authority to legislate.
It’s not vague. The problem is the judges don’t like the law because it conflicts with what they want Congress to do.
The Heritage foundation made those choices. Trump traded that selection for their support.Trump doesn’t own the SCOTUS. He nominated 1/3 of the current justices. The dims shouldn’t have run that dumb ***** in 2016. Everyone knew the appointments were going to happen during that term. Elections have consequences.
It’s not struck down on the principle of being vague. And yet this is just a continuation of other courts at the State AND federal level overturning vaguely worded anti-corruption laws.
You are just mad that this time a two bit republican got off, and you get bonus sand in your Vagina for a 6-3 ideological lines ruling.
Apparently not, since the SCOTUS has the final say on it. Don’t worry, you’ll have a fresh outrage spoon-fed to you by tomorrow.
It’s not struck down on the principle of being vague.
They just decided that the word “reward” doesn’t actually mean what it means.
Because they can do that. Make up definitions of words and ignore definitions of other words. It’s Calvinball. Nothing means anything anymore.
The ruling applies to all officials. That includes judges. The action is bribery no matter who does it.
Even if true, so what? The Heritage foundation made those choices. Trump traded that selection for their support.
WTF are you babbling about now? LolSure, that's why Thomas went back and revised his reports.
Even if true, so what?
Dude its in the link you provided... I hate it when you people don't read your own link story....That’s a lie.
Insider trading is hard to prosecute. When they finally did prosecute him, Trump pardoned him.
So if you guys are so fed up with insider trading, how come you didn’t say shit about this case?
How do you know he didn’t approve of those nominations regardless? You don’t, so STFU, idiot. He sold the presidential authority to choose SC justices to the Heritage foundation for their support. that's bribery.
how is that different than getting a six or seven figure job at a lobbying firm after they leave office??According to trump’s supreme Court Justices, it’s now perfectly legal to give large sums of money and elaborate trips or damn near anything else to officials, including judges, as long as the gift comes after the ruling instead of before. In more precise terms, they just gave themselves a hall pass to accept lavish gifts from rich folks who happen to like their rulings. It’s obvious that this new ruling was custom designed to justify Clarence Thomas’s elaborate gifts from Harlan Crow. Think about that. Can you expect a fair ruling from a court when the judge knows he will receive gifts, and all he has to do is rule in favor of what ever the gift giver wants? Just another example of the unethical behavior of trump and his appointees are forcing on the American Public.
