It could be very effective in the US however, Trump needs to step up his fight against mail in ballots because it could derail his efforts to suppress voting at the polling places.

Yeah, Trump cited vote harvesting in his efforts to overturn the 2020 elections. This time around he will have the military guarding polling places, and ballots, and making sure only the right people vote and bad ballots don't get counted.
