In one particularly outrageous moment, Trump said, “The union—the United Auto Workers, I think the people in that union are going to vote for me overwhelmingly because I’m going to bring car industry back.”

Just last week Trump said he would fire striking workers during a conversation with billionaire technocrat Elon Musk. The next day, the United Auto Workers filed federal labor charges against Trump and Musk, accusing them of “illegal attempts to threaten and intimidate workers who stand up for themselves by engaging in protected concerted activity, such as strikes.”

Trump has been noticeably low energy this election cycle, and I have ideas why that is.

I am actually reminded of the 1992 election and George Bush's lackadaisical campaign. I pondered at the time that his heart wasn't really in it. I don't think it hurt his feelings that he lost.

It looks like Trump's heart really isn't in this race, either.

1. Trump knows he is at the end of his life. He can feel it. And he has to wonder, like Biden did, if he really wants to spend his final years dealing with all the hassles and pressures of the presidency. If he loses, that's more time on the golf course and more time with porn stars (Amber Rose?)

2. Probably the chief reason Trump ran again was because of the three remaining indictments. He wanted to be able to kill them by firing all the prosecutors. But now, the Supremes he appointed just gave him immunity for his crimes, so the pressure is off. He is not entirely free from prosecution, but enough such that his lawyers can negotiate jail-free terms with the prosecutors who are now unsure what can move forward and what can't.

3. Truth Social is a total dud. I believe Trump always knew it would be, but he was able to scam enough rubes to bag a couple billion dollars when the six month lockout is over, which is in a couple/few weeks. Trump can walk away from all this whole again.

4. In his heart of hearts, Trump has always been a far left New York Democrat limousine liberal. He supported abortion all the way up to birth, and when he suddenly became a Republican, he initially fumbled questions about his pro-life beliefs because it took him a while to figure out how to fake being pro-life. And now he has triangulated and said he supports abortion up to 15 weeks. So he's back to being pro-abortion.

Trump has always supported universal (single-payer) health care, and he has never repudiated that stance, even while he was claiming he had a replacement for Obamacare. I think his "replacement" was UHC, but he didn't know how to break it to the cult.

Trump spent like a Democrat. He submitted the largest government spending budget in history, and demanded more stimulus money than even the Democrats wanted. His tax break was a sop that someone pretending to be a Republican would do.

The wall is a gimmick and nothing more. A MacGuffin which was going to solve all of America's problems. Trump knows damned well there will never be concentration camps for illegals.

5. The one thing Trump will miss if he loses is the constant attention. He craves the spotlight and fades without it. And he is not getting all the attention he used to get any more.

The lack of attention is rapidly aging Trump.

So he's going to keep swinging, but he is going to be saying some really outrageous things to get that spotlight back.

I think he comes across as low energy, because he is browbeaten. When a man defines himself by winning, losing anything is a crisis of identity. His apparently depressed state is a result of his abnormal psychology.
