If I want a gun, I can walk into any gunsshop or pawnshop, pick out the one I want, pay for it and after the background check, walk out with it with 5 boxes of ammo for it. Before Covid, I could buy a gun faster than I could buy a loaf of bread. The breakdown now is that the background checks are backlogged and you can't take the gun out of the "Shop" until it passes. It's taking 1 to 3 days. When things get back to normal, we'll go back to the 10 minute gun buy IN A BLUE STATE. Please stop lying.

What's sad is, they used Facebook to advertise nation wide for the Rtwing nutjob "Militia" to go there. Facebook has removed the pages and cancelled a whole bunch of accounts over it. It's not the first time that these blood thirsty wanna be killers have used Facebook to organize. And until the shooting, Facebook claimed it did not meet the takedown criteria.

The Kenosha Militia were NOT from Kenosa. They were imported from all over the place. They did have a membership but not all that responded bothered to register as members. That 17 year old kid didn't bother.

The Governor was smart enough to call in his own National Guard and get things under control right after the shooting. And we smart enough to tell Rump, "Thanks but no Thanks" Rump was lying out his ass about getting permission from the Governor to send in Federal Help. And his claim that it was HIM that was sending in the National Guard was a lie as well. That "Help" was one of the reasons that prolonged the Oregon situation. Portland had all but died down into very peaceful (okay, loud but not violent) assemblies. Rump sent in his Brown Shirts with Avis vehicles and harassed citizens on the streets who weren't doing anything other than just being there. Hence the Mayor leading a peaceful march on the Fed Building and getting Gassed. That brought out the bad actors big time. You can't get a handle on things by using outside resources like either the Bully Boy Militias nor the Rump Brown Shirts. It has to be handled locally.

Every Governor has the right (and probably the obligation) to secure an Organized Militia outside of the National Guard which can be Federalized too easy. Texas and California both have a State Militia. They can't call it a State Guard legally but they do call it a State Defense Force (SDF). Most of the members are ineligible for callup for Federal Callup.

There is another method that might be able to raise something similar to an Organized Militia but it's more a Posse or a Police Augmentee Force. This is done by the Sheriffs and Police Chiefs that deputizes certain citizens. They are a SDF Force, they are Deputized Sheriffs and Police.

What some keep mistaking for a Militia is what you may call an Unorganized Militia. The real name for them is Vigilantes. And, if you follow history, Vigilanteism proves to be a complete nightmare that gets out of control very quickly.
