"President-elect Donald Trump on Sunday pledged to "stop the transgender lunacy" on day one of his presidency, as Republicans -- set to control both chambers of Congress and the White House -- continue their push against LGBTQ rights.

"I will sign executive orders to end child sexual mutilation, get transgender out of the military and out of our elementary schools and middle schools and high schools," the president-elect said at an event for young conservatives in Phoenix, Arizona.


He also vowed to "keep men out of women's sports," adding that "it will be the official policy of the United States government that there are only two genders, male and female."

It's not enough to get rid of school programs trying to normalize gender dysphoria, you want laws preventing teaching from discussing it at all.

More nobody wants to discuss the implications of said 'law' in our schools , in a sanctuary state dblack

you do realize these programs exclude the parent from any notification, most aren't even aware their children are subjected to them

and you might ask why the taxpaying customer should be put in such a position, and get all kinds of excuses

because the real truth is, these folks aren't there to diagnose gender dysphoria , they're there to sell it

Mutilation is not the way to handle mental illness, amirite?

It's inhumane. Making yourself conform to a sexual body image is in the same category as anorexia. But women and men both do it. Women get silicone lips and boobs, and men go to the gym. We can only go so far in rationalizing these things as "improvements". Even if they add to happiness.

Maybe. But why does government need to make the call? These kinds of decisions should be between a doctor and patients (and parents, if a minor is involved).

I'm really sympathetic to the observation that the whole thing has become a sick fad. Kids are suffering long term damage in the name of woke politics. And Democrats, with their incessant desire to "engineer" society, have tried to turn it into a governmental issue. That needs to be reversed. Schools shouldn't be promoting this shit, and shouldn't be making heroes out of kids who play along.

But there are real families with real kids dealing with real gender dysphoria without clear answers, and government should butt out of their decisions. It shouldn't be telling them how to solve their problems, one way or another.
