I'm thinking that if Trump gets convicted, and then gets elected president, that two things would have to happen. First, the VP and the majority of the cabinet disqualify Trump under the 25th amendment.
If that doesn't happen, then congress will have no choice but to impeach Trump for high crimes and misdemeanors. And the senate to convict him on those charges.
There is no way a convicted felon can carry out all the duties and responsibilities of President of the United States from prison.
