Ginsberg probably argued her case to the ultimate Supreme....and lost.

Sorry she passed but she should have retired a decade ago. But I'll give her credit, she was a tough old bird
She loved her job. But, maybe a tad too much.
She could have retired at eighty and had Obama appoint a forty year old Lib to replace her.

When there’s a Supreme Court vacancy, the President selects a nominee and the Senate provides advice and consent. That’s what the Constitution says and those are the only rules.

There has been an open seat on the Supreme Court in a presidential election year 29 times in American history, and in every single case the president has nominated a candidate. Voters elected Donald J. Trump president in 2016 and gave Republicans an expanded majority in 2018, so the people already have spoken. The President has placed two well-qualified justices on the court so far and he is about to select a third.

Americans can see the names on Trump's list of potential nominees, while Joe Biden is hiding his list of people he would consider if he were president. Biden knows that he is an empty vessel for the radical left and that’s why he’s refusing to be honest with the American people about who he would want on the court. But make no mistake about this: The President has been clear that he will nominate a woman to fill that seat and the Senate should vote to confirm her.

61 Supreme Court Justice picks have been nominated and confirmed since 1900 — and 70% of them were confirmed within 46 days — the exact number of days left until Election Day.

2020 Couldn't get more insane could it? Even CBC has full coverage and happy stories of RBG on their network. I bet you 1 in 150 Canadians knows who she is.

Now this from Trump...

Trump urges Republicans to fill Ginsburg vacancy 'without delay'

President Trump on Saturday said Republicans have an "obligation" to fill the vacancy on the Supreme Court left by Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg "without delay."

The president’s tweet comes after Ginsburg, 87, passed away on Friday from complications surrounding metastatic cancer of the pancreas.

“@GOP We were put in this position of power and importance to make decisions for the people who so proudly elected us, the most important of which has long been considered to be the selection of United States Supreme Court Justices,” Trump tweeted Saturday morning.

“We have this obligation, without delay!” he added.
Yup. I agree. Get the seat filled ASAP. Barrett is the person I'd choose. She's a Constitutionalist Judge and we need more of those folks on the SC. Hope he gets this rolling as soon as possible and that she is his pick.

Nah. She refused to retire after Obama asked her to. Now I hope Barrett gets in as she's a Constitutionalist Judge and we can sure use more of those folks on the SC and I also hope Trump gets this done ASAP.

He will. We need to make sure the GOP fulfills their constitutional duty and gives them a prompt vote.

trump apparently does not believe Moscow Mitch, or maybe mitch doesn't believe himsel:

" February 13, 2016: “The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice,” McConnell said in a statement released after Scalia’s death. “Therefore, this vacancy should not be filled until we have a new president.”

5 Times McConnell Said We Shouldn't Confirm a SCOTUS Justice in an Election Year
That was durring a lame duck presidency that was leaving office... It is very differnet today with one that is going to remain for four more years.
If they believed that, they wouldn't be in a Rush to push this through.

Or may not remain past January 20, 2021. McConnell did not know who was going to win the 2016 election. There was a good chance that Clinton would win the 2016 election and approve of Garland's nomination. McConnell's logic is still the same.
These are different circumstances in 2020, than there was in 2016. Back in 2016 it was 0bama's last year of his second term, it was impossible that he would be president in 2017. The lame duck 0bama would essentially steal away the nomination from the front runner Hilary, or the long shot - Trump.

Plus the nation is very divided with a violent left Burning, Looting and Murdering. This is not the time to have the nation possibly look to the SCOTUS for a decision over the election, and we have a 4-4 split decision, that would result in more violence, looting and burning.
Any excuse or lie will do when it comes to Trump Humpers.

Yes. That was the Biden Rule that applies when the Senate and Presidency aren't under the control of the same party. Such is not the case, today.

I'm hearing that RBG left SPECIFIC INSTRUCTIONS to the effect that ONLY THE NEXT PRESIDENT MAY APPOINT HER SUCCESSOR.

Not yet confirmed, but if true, THIS CHANGES EVERYTHING!!!

He'll do his part. But, will the Senate? If the Senate is going to act, it needs to act before the election. Right now a Romney defection cannot sink the nomination, but, if Trump loses and McNally loses, a Romney defection would sink the nomination, and I don't think Romney could pass up such an opportunity to backstab the GOP.

Bullshit, any excuse will do. Republicans like Graham and McConnell are men of NO character.

RBG does not have the ability to amend the Constitution via an utterance.

If Barack Obama can nominate a Supreme Court justice in an election year, why can't Donald Trump?

He will. The challenge is getting the Senate to confirm.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will always be remembered for her work, her integrity, and her devotion to democracy and justice.
And what sort of things will Trump's appointments to the Supreme Court be remembered for - BOOFING.
The sad part is that you don't realize the kavanaugh is actually better qualified for the judgeship than selfish ginsburg.
