I keep seeing these “Iran killed (fill in the blank) protesters” fake news “stories”
30,000
35,000
80,000
Not fake news, many were killed, but the exact number is not known.

Seizing Kharg island won't open Hormuz.

I agree we should take Kharg island, but that is a long term solution to Iran's finances, threatening powerplants is an immediate solution.
Seizing the island closes the income stream to the mullahs

That is the quickest way to regime change

Do you really believe that the shot callers (I won't dignify them with calling them government) really sit around, listening to input from the corporate intelligence agencies, foreign and domestic, and decide that everyone in the US wants a total global war for shifting and poorly defined reasons? You seem to accept every thing that comes down the pipeline without even flinching, so I think that's exactly how you roll. Try to explain this aggression without mentioning Israel, our "allies", or oil. Thank you.
1. Iran just fired two ICBMs at Diego Garcia, a range of about 2,500 miles, bringing almost all EU capitals in range. They were shot down by the Us Space Force.
2. Iran admitted to having 440 kg of 60% enriched uranium, very close to weapons grade, and enough for 10 nuclear bombs.
3. Iran putting nukes on ICBMs is a threat no US president can allow.

QED

I don`t support anyone having nukes. A career criminal who incited a deadly riot and robbed a cancer charity should not have access to nuclear weapons. Do you see anyone coming to defend this country other than Israel? I don`t.
LOL. We're in NATO, and Article 5 is supposed to mean something.
Regarding Iran, the Gulf States are supposed to oppose Iran after being attacked, the Kurds are good fighters and are reliable allies.

The best outcome would be a regime change with a free election at this point. China and Russia are supporting Iran so if Iran falls, China and Russia are greatly isolated, resigned to N Korea as their only true ally. The problem is that this would require boots on the ground and perhaps a year of fighting in a horrible environment, even as the Iranian military is decimated. If the IRCC start being recruited and armed, if members start leaving en mass, this would greatly help in this outcome. The problem is time, both politically for Trump and GOP and economically. China and Russia know this.
N. Korea is their only true ally and Israel is our only true ally. Germany said this is Trump`s war.

Turns out the Iron Dome wasn't/isn't as effective as they had hoped it would be and they're running very low on defensive missiles. Couple that with the fact that Iran is using cluster munitions and it becomes very possible that Iran can continue meting out great damage to Israel's infrastructure. The Iranians have proven to be a much more difficult foe than Trump and team had anticipated.
Taking over Iraq was supposed to be a "cakewalk" the former Secretary of War told us.

Now we're getting somewhere:

Trump, Iran threaten power, energy targets as war escalates

'Open Hormuz Or Will Destroy Power Plants': Trump Warns Iran, Tehran Responds

I fully support this ultimatum. Get that oil moving!!
I guess its not about helping the Iranian people any more.

Blow up Kharg Island.

Don't confuse Iran's military with the IRGC. The IRGC is like Hitler's SS, the regular Army might be with the people.

The US has "allies" in the Iran war, the Gulf states and the Kurds.

There won't be a year of fighting. Once we take Kharg island Iran has no money.

If Hormuz isn't opened tomorrow Iran's powerplants get destroyed, without power Iran has no water...
Oh, Iran will have money from the temporary sanctions lifted by Trump. Figures range around 12 Billion in other articles. So, Trump is help funding their retaliation against Israel and U.S. Makes a lot of sense to me.

Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent said Friday the move could free up around 140 million barrels of oil that otherwise would've been "hoarded by China on the cheap," referring to China's status as the largest importer of Iranian oil.

Where is that $12b figure from? Bessent said Iran doesn't get the cash, read your link:
"Bessent argued that Iran won't be able to access much of the proceeds from the sales, writing that "the United States will continue to maintain maximum pressure on Iran and its ability to access the international financial system."

More oil in the system lowers the price, a good thing.

Just love the Trumpfy with all of his Obliteration talk .
You are so strong , Donald .
Such a manly Old Age Pensioner .

They said , whilst giggling at the silly old fool behind his back.

Really , he is like a spoiled Brat who has had his toys taken away because he was such a naughty little boy .

Well if they don't have power and water there will be a mass migration.
Yes it is. Getting rid of the mullahs and the IRGC needs to happen first.

Nope. Iran will need oil infrastructure after regime change.

On the positive he said obliterate which is Trump speak for back online a month later...

So its an easy choice. Open Hormuz or die.
Trump to Israel: don’t strike Iran energy base, pretty please

Trump to Iran: open the strait or we’ll blow up your energy base

If I had skills I’d do a sticker for gas pumps of Bibi behind Trump pointing up saying “I made him do that”

Well if they don't have power and water there will be a mass migration.
Or a mass revolt against the mullahs that caused the disaster.

People in Iran will need water, so knocking out power "temporarily" would be a better option than "obliterating" the powerplants.
