Trump to Mandate Tourists Pay $250 Each, to Enter America

It's an excellent idea..... Most tourist spend an average of $10,000 between travel and hotel.
250 is nothing.
I asked IM2 to explain, using specifics, why it's insanity? So far he's unable to using his United Negro College Fund education.

Shhhhh! This is a no brainer. If they have to pay to get in the US, they'll come to Canada for free!

Immigrants and tourists, welcome! We don't see different shades of skin.

I'm fully onboard with that. You can deal with it

I got blindsided by surprise unknown EXIT tax leaving Incheon Airport near Seoul. Have to have a credit card too I’m pretty sure. Cash people in trouble.
Wow, that's a new one. When I was changing planes in Seoul I got the third degree from someone with either Korean Air or customs, not sure, asking me all these questions of where I have been, where I'm going, how long I'm traveling, all while waiting in line to get on a connecting flight. I answered the first couple questions and then waved the lady off.

I gotta give props to canada on their fishing. Best in the world. They know how to protect their resources. I also like the struct laws on fish posession. Stops many people from being slobs taki g full coolers back.

Its important to me too but this isn't the place to discuss serious matters concerning Canada.

So a family of four visiting Disney World has to pay an extra $1000

New Orleans is notorious for doing this for decades.

These countries would be exempt from the $250 since they are part of the visa waiver program,
  • Australasia: Australia, New Zealand
  • Europe: United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Norway, Iceland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Monaco, Malta, Slovenia, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Croatia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Greece
  • Asia & Middle East: Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Brunei, Israel, Taiwan
  • Americas & Others: Chile
  • Microstates: Andorra, San Marino
  • Long-term U.S. flag: Bermuda (similar exemptions apply)
Citizens of these countries use ESTA (not a full visa), so the $250 fee doesn’t apply.

Also, most Canadian and Bermudian citizens are exempt, even if they use a non‑immigrant visa .

Essentially Mexico and Central America would have to pay the $250.

  • Canada: Canadian visitor bookings dropped by 40–70%. Flight bookings plunged, while land crossings declined ~23–32% in early 2025 .
  • Europe: Visitor numbers from European nations fell 15–30% overall (e.g. Germany down ~28%) .
  • Australia and New Zealand: Declines of 7–15%, though Australia showed a slight booking increase compared to last year before 2025 slowdown .

Good.
