Doing so, they added, will erode the bureau’s reputation as an elite law enforcement agency, known for its selectiveness about its recruits.

So, the FBI is lowering its FBI recruitment standards so that now FBI agents no longer will need a college degree because as we all know we don’t need educated or smart agents working on counter terrorism. I do find it interesting that Kash Patel doesn’t want the FBI to focus on investigating financial fraud or public corruption…gee I wonder why…LOL

Since they fired all of the women and minorities, it’s tough to find enough loyal MAGA supporters willing to take on this work.

Sounds to me, like right wing MAGA supporting applicants, can't pass the tests, so "dumb it down" becomes the answer. Duh

If anyone bothered to look into the issue, the change in standards is to accommodate the ability of agents to transfer from other agencies, making a single standard for all federal law enforcement. It is in fact a good idea. The FBI needs to be knocked down a few pegs in their self-importance and elitist attitudes. There is too much redundancy with the FBI and other agencies as it is. Time for more specialization. We have agencies aplenty to handle almost every threat and crime imaginable, almost all of them have lower standards than the FBI, yet accomplish as much or more.

Why would anyone decide that the best way to ensure the FBI is a more excellent and world renowned police force is to turn them into a common police force but with a federal slant?

The Dems are going to now suggest Trump is looking to create a federal police state, this is a boon to them if they have enough sharp people to discuss it in the media and will increase U.S debt.

If you want the best of the best, they need to find the best of the best. Trump loves intellects who graduated from the top schools so this can't be his idea. I don't know who is advising him but this is the exact opposite you want from the creme de la creme and will only lead to MORE abuses.

You want federal agents to take pride in knowing they can match wits with China and excel at stopping their spying. This is a gift to China more than anyone.

If true, this doesn't make sense to me to be honest. I'm confused, especially after hearing Patel talk about wanting to return the bureau to the best in the world.

The FBI has been rotten to the core since day one. It needs to go-tear it out root and branch, burn the brush and salt the soil.
