What circumstances allow the president to invoke this law?​

The text of the Alien Enemies Act says it can be invoked whenever:

• A war is declared between the US and “any foreign nation or government” OR
• “Invasion or predatory incursion is perpetrated, attempted, or threatened against the territory of the United States by any foreign nation or government” AND
• “the President makes public proclamation of the event”

In other words, if the US is at war with another country, or a foreign nation or government has invaded the US or threatened to, a president can invoke the Alien Enemies Act.

Who would be impacted?
In those circumstances, “all natives, citizens, denizens, or subjects of the hostile nation or government” who are at least 14 years old and haven’t become naturalized US citizens “shall be liable to be apprehended, restrained, secured, and removed as alien enemies.”
In other words, certain people who aren’t US citizens could be declared “alien enemies” based on their nationality. And that designation could be the basis for detaining and deporting them.

The cost , $88 billion a year for each 1 million they're attempting to evict. trump and Vance claim there are 20-25 million of them ( people who actually know what they are talking about say that number is half of that. ) So we're talking no less than $2 trillion, with trump doing it you could double that number and then some. trump is no conservative. Vance is trying to sell the message that the housing crisis would be solved if we get these immigrants out. As far as I know very few immigrants are buying houses. Plus the new houses we need built will be reduced . 1 out 3 construction jobs are filled by immigrants. Getting them out will hurt US all. The experts are saying 4.2-6.8% of the GDP is generated by immigrants. The policy reeks of racism. We are not at war with any of the governments of the countries these people are coming from. 2. Any alien here illegally who has any communicable disease should be tossed out ASAP.

3. Any alien here illegally who has committed any other felony (not included in #1) should get a swift boot in the ass out of here.

4. Any illegal alien who has engaged in any anti American activism should be sent packing with no delay.

5. Any illegal alien who has been determined to have evaded the payment of US taxes which legal aliens and citizens are obliged to pay — out. Go. Don’t come back.
