Trump/Taliban Peace Agreement For Troop Withdrawal

I get your point - but it appears to be poor planning to evacuate our Afghan allies and their families. This will all be debated and spun over the coming months - maybe years.
After 20 years there were tens of thousands who had worked with the US. I’ve heard estimates as high as 70k when family members are added in. Logistically that would be nearly impossible. We certainly should have at least tried to evacuate those in and around the capital though. There are reports now though that the govt was collapsing before Biden announced the withdrawal. We may have just waited too long.

Are you saying that the Afghan government was not involved in the plan?
They were not involved in Trump's discussions with the Taliban The idea was to bring in the Afghan
government after the deal was made.

Ah.. good old right wing revisionist history once again. Trump drew down our forces to just 2,500 sitting ducks as per his deal with the Taliban..he just didn't have the guts to pull the trigger and shut down the embassy and leave...Biden did.

Hence the last legitimate president didn't have Kabul fall and see 30,000 friendlies who aided us murdered...Biden did.

A little history behind these dreaded Taliban and why it was impossible to completely eradicate them..Who are the Taliban?
Exactly. What could we possibly offer fundamentalists who are uneducated, live in the middle of nowhere in mud houses and who’s only mission is to create their ideal world in service to their god? What worldly possessions would they take in exchange for turning their backs on Allah? Nothing. Ever.

Boy that Biden really is talented....

Biden Delivers on Trump’s Afghan Exit as the Taliban Surges

Donald Trump made the politically popular pledge to bring U.S. troops home from the nation’s longest war. Now Joe Biden is delivering on the promise -- and reaping growing criticism over the grim results that are unfolding in Afghanistan.

The U.S.-trained Afghan military is shrinking back as Taliban insurgents seize provincial capitals and reimpose their fundamentalist views. As they take towns and commandeer security checkpoints, waves of desperate people are fleeing their takeover. The situation is an especially difficult challenge for President Biden, who has committed to champion human rights and democratic values.

Bloomberg
Why did Biden fulfill THAT Trump promise, when he obviously had no problem shutting down as many of Trumps other deals as he could? Also, why was Biden's withdrawal plan so terrible?

How can anybody vote for a demented person?

The whole world realizes he is not a sane man! To vote for that Cretin as President, of the what used to be the number 1 country on earth is beyond a pathetic joke!
A comment that sounds like it was made in 2017

The Taliban doesn't want this thing to go all to hell. I don't think you're going to hear a peep out of the warlords and the Haqqani Mafia.
