Canada is angry. The question is, do we apply tariffs on other nations including the U.S.? Yes, we do. I don't like tariffs against Canada but we should be 3x the size of our economy with the situation we have had for 40 years. Instead, we destroy our best and brightest. I reached out 20 years ago but our governments are arrogant and unwilling to defend citizens.

When Trump offered a complete Free Trade option at the G7 in 2017 or so, no tariffs, no subsidies or anything and none of the leaders accepted.

Now he is cornered to protect his economy.

U.S. President Donald Trump has slapped 25 per cent tariffs on all steel and aluminum imports — including from Canada — according to Reuters.

Canada's steel and aluminum industries find themselves once again watching for any news out of the White House after U.S. President Donald Trump promised to impose 25 per cent tariffs on imports.

Yikes!

Good catch.

Something must have Pissed OMB off.

What did you do, Melania?

Over/Under when they get amended or rescinded? 3 days? (after they actually happen)

What will you do without Canadas beautiful steel?

What do you think will go up in price now?
Depends on your importers. Canada has already received many cancelled orders from the U.S so this suggests that companies will buy local. Even our depressed dollar doesn't make up the difference I guess.

~~~~~~
China has been artificially undercutting U.S. Steel production for years. It's about time to stop it.
Oh! Alcoa's looking pretty good! And wait until MisterBeale 's shipment comes in! :auiqs.jpg:
He orders it by the semi-load.
Trump imposed 25 percent tariffs on steel imports the first time around. This ended up costing the US about 75,000 manufacturing jobs as it put downstream manufacturing at a disadvantage against foreign competitors.
Insanity: Doing the same thing over and over, expecting a different result.
According to one of his advisors today he said that the last tariff brought in 120k steel jobs.
I don't know how it is going to work out, but the U.S needs to get their debt under control, you are drowning in interest payments.
