The source was obviously a hateful hit piece intended to hurt the President. As have been his remarks about it.

President Trump is reported to average a round of golf every 5.6 days. It is pretty much his ONLY form of recreation and how he manages the stress of his office. He doesn't take vacations. He doesn't take weekends off. His schedule includes 18-hour work days most days. And that includes the time spent at Mar-a-lago or other of his resort properties where he can sneak in a round of golf about once a week.

To deny him a bit of respite from the pressures of his duties by playing a round of golf roughly once a week is just pure hatefulness.
