I have no idea what "patriotic education" would consist of. I hope that it is not some sugarcoated version of history that puts a positive spin on even our most egregious violations of our values.

I would like to see courses that teach the history of voting in the U.S., including how each group won the right to participate in democracy and who opposed the franchise for each group and why.

Couldn't read link (ad-blocker) but the standards and curricula are up to each state to adopt and disperse to their districts as they wish. The federal government and Trump have no Constitutional authority to implement this. They could cut funding to states that don't implement it sure, but they couldn't enforce it being taught in the schools.
