The New York Post gives a very different perspective to what is going on with negotiations between the Ukraine and Russia. As long as Zelensky maintains martial law in the Ukraine, he is in fact a pure dictator. Is he reluctant to make a peace deal and lose that power? Who knows?

But he is also rejecting any deals with the USA in return for guaranteed security if he does make a peace deal with Russia. In other words he has several times misrepresented the situation--that is what provoked Trump's 'dictator' remark-- and has not been at all helpful in coming to an agreement for peace.
