trump says there's "no price tag" for deportation.

If I hand you a $20 or rip up your IOU for $20, I'm out $20.
The difference is that giving me a $20 means I can go to McDonald and pick up several value meals.
You rip up my IOU and i'm still going hungry.

It means it is time to end this BS.

We will put Ike in the pet cemetary and he will be in charge of operation wet back 2.

Or option B.We keep them and Trade for the far left deported to Mexico.

A new study shows that undocumented immigrants paid nearly $100 billion in federal, state and local tax revenue in 2022 while many are shut out of the programs their taxes fund. The findings run counter to anti-immigrant rhetoric that undocumented immigrants are “destroying” social programs.

In 40 states, undocumented immigrants paid higher tax rates than the top 1% of the income scale in those states, according to a study released Tuesday from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy, a left-leaning, nonprofit think tank.

The study, which uses estimates of undocumented immigrants’ tax contributions as of 2022, shows those totaled $96.7 billion that year. Study authors also found that undocumented immigrants would contribute $40.2 billion more per year in federal, state and local taxes if all of the undocumented population had access to work authorization. The Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy reasoned that this boost would come from higher wages associated with employment authorization and easier compliance with income tax laws.

You wonder how they know that since most of those working for wages that are reported are using somebody else's social security number or just made one up? And a modest estimate of what those migrants cost the U.S. tax paper in benefits alone is roughly $150 billion per year and that does not factor in the cost of the crimes the criminal element among them commit. And it doesn't factor in what they cost us in increased work comp, auto, etc. insurance premiums and such.

Working work comp claims some years ago, I found many illegals who had work comp claims were using as many as three or four different social security numbers. That is a huge risk for those who have that part of their identity stolen as they can easily have bad credit, criminal records, etc. attached to their name via bad acts of the illegals using those numbers.

Can Trump hand over government assets, like Biden just did?
Issuing a pardon to somebody found guilty of a crime and sentenced to time and a monetary fine.

The president can cancel the fine with a pardon.
Thus giving out government assets.
And with congressional control or oversight.

Do all IOU's have monetary value?
What are the IOU's owned by the Social Security administration worth. How much cash can they get for them?

Your IOU is an asset for me.

What are the IOU's owned by the Social Security administration worth.

About $2.7 trillion.

How much cash can they get for them?

If they were marketable, they could sell them for about $2.7 trillion.
If they needed $12 billion on Tuesday, they would transfer that amount to the Treasury in exchange for $12 billion in cash. Same thing.

"We obviously have to make the border strong and powerful and, and we have to — at the same time, we want people to come into our country," he said. "And you know, I’m not somebody that says, 'No, you can’t come in.' We want people to come in."

As a candidate, Trump had repeatedly vowed to carry out the "largest deportation effort in American history." Asked about the cost of his plan, he said, "It’s not a question of a price tag. It’s not — really, we have no choice. When people have killed and murdered, when drug lords have destroyed countries, and now they’re going to go back to those countries because they’re not staying here. There is no price tag."

And yet there is a price tag. Not only for the economy (removing that many workers is inflationary because it will drive up the price of labor. Plus it will reduce GDP), but for the government.

How much could it cost?

Vice President-elect JD Vance has estimated Trump's actions could result in 1 million people being removed from the country each year, a pace the nonpartisan American Immigration Council estimated would cost about $88 billion annually. To deport all the people in the U.S. without authorization would take about a decade and cost nearly a trillion dollars, the council said.

I guess the thrill he got from hearing the screams of immigrant children after being separated from their parents wasn't quite satisfying enough. Now he'll be breaking up families who have lived here, yes illegally, for many years. I personally know someone here in CO who is married to an illegal alien. That marriage is over if the ACLU isn't able to stop Don in the courts.
when "push comes to shove" ----the deportation thing will be
NUTHIN' WIT NUTHIN'----probably limited to arrestees---anything
more carries a big price-tag

Yeah, you don't need to remind me about Marc Rich.
But enough about stuff explicitly allowed by the US Constitution.

What about other government assets? Is real estate ok?
Can Biden forgive an FHA mortgage on my house, just because there is "no outlay from the treasury"?

I want them to break up the Central American gangs and send the cockroaches back to where they came from.

You'll have to look that up on your own.

But say a person steals $100 million from the government. A presidential pardon nullifies any restitution imposed.

would be nice----but they will have to get them on a charge---littering or jay-walking should work

Telling someone who owes you money that you forgive the loan means you have that much less in your accounts receivable fund - which is an asset.
An IOU is a piece of paper.
It has no actual value unless both sides agree it has value.
Either party can make an IOU not worth the paper it's printed on.

Trump's first administration was the most expensive in history and MOST of that spending occurred before COVID came on the scene. Be ready for a new all-time record.

Yes. When my grandparents and great-grandparents came in legally through Ellis Island (I have their processing papers), they ended sharing tenement rooms with other poor immigrants while they slaves in sweatshops.

They did NOT get put up in hotels, get $350 a week for food, and then have babies they went right onto welfare.

When my great-grandparents came in legally through Ellis Island, they were put in cattle cars and dumped onto a plain in North Dakota. They literally had to claw their lives out of the sod.
