trump says there's "no price tag" for deportation.

Yes, it's inflationary.

Why do you feel it is inflationary? What definition of inflationary are you using?
Because it's like being "hooked on phonics"
America is hooked on foreign imports. And a tariff isn't going to change that, since we don't have the manufacturing base to replace them.
Therefore all the tariffs will do (short term) is increase the price of goods, which is the very definition of inflation.

I know people who voted for Trump based on those kind of economic promises.
Like no tax on overtime and no tax on tips and no tax on social security.
Sure, there are plenty of people who couldn't tell you 95% of the insane things he's said and done. I'd bet you that at least one third of the country doesn't even know about the Insurrection.

To be honest, I really can't blame a person from being disconnected from all things political. It's ugly, it's dishonest, it's insulting. But this particular time, not knowing the whole story is a problem.

This is where reading constitutional decisions by the USSC comes in handy.
As chief justice tanney write in his majority opinion. The founding fathers never intended blacks and indians (not taxed) to be "people", and as such they had the same rights as farm animals.

I agree, Democrats should not be allowed to nominate Supreme Court justices.
They're just awful people.

Yes, it is a non-starter, it is that ridiculous that all he can hope to do is a few token details and deport a few thousand people and then hope his MAGATS forget the promise, which of course they always do.

Have you ever considered this?

I wonder if those people considered the implications for the budget deficit from those tax cuts. Ones that will not be remedied by tariffs. Quite the opposite.

Yet Trump "tweeted" his promises to millions, with millions more amplifying them to anybody and everybody.
I'm sure many people based their vote for Trump because of his economic promises.
I talked to people who based their vote on no tax on overtime, and no tax on tips and no tax on social security.
Those are some pretty strong personal economic motivations.

I heard one of the most frequent web searches around election day had to do with questions about whether Biden had dropped out of the race.

Sometimes those of us who follow politics closely forget how ignorant/disinterested the majority of Americans are. I don't think they fully comprehend how bad things could get after voting for someone who will not help their plight. He'll likely make it worse.

We're first going after the ones let in by Harris/Biden. How about some cold hard facts, how many did they let into the country? THey know it - they issued them orders to appear.
Why the crickets Mr. Cold Hard Facts berg80? How many illegals have Biden/Harris let into the country in the past four years?

People are driven by their own economic interests.
As James Carville told Bill Clinton on how to win in 1992
"It's the economy stupid."

People will vote with their pocketbook.
That's why republicans constantly run on cutting taxes.

An increase in the prices of goods is the definition of inflation?

Are you sure?
Economics 101.

Inflation is the rate of increase in prices over a given period of time. Inflation is typically a broad measure, such as the overall increase in prices or the increase in the cost of living in a country.

Oh, it's a broad measure.

If the price of product A increases by $1, and I buy it, I now have $1 less to spend on products B, C, D and E.
If they still want me to buy the same quantity, they're going to have to reduce prices. Right?

Then put your money where your mouth is.
Demonstrate your support.

I will gladly vote to take some of the tax money Chicago is spending to house, feed, educate and imprison
our recent illegal alien arrivals and use it to deport our recent illegal alien arrivals.

Why are progressives only concerned about budget deficits, when Republicans are in charge?

Wrong.
When the price of gasoline went up, it didn't cause other prices to go down did it?

DUH !!!!!

Why are republicans only concerned about budget deficits when Democrats are in charge?

Remember all the republicans who said "deficits don't matter", yet were willing to shut down the government over raising the national debt.

Democrats NEVER said or did that.

So get real
