Trump pushed back tariffs he unilaterally imposed, set to start in October, by an additional month. The tariff would levy a 25% tax on new medium and heavy duty trucks entering the country.

Trump says tariffs on medium- and heavy-duty trucks will go into effect Nov. 1

President Trump on Monday said he would impose a 25 percent tariff on medium- and heavy-duty trucks coming into the United States starting Nov. 1.

The announcement, which Trump made on Truth Social, both delays and expands a tariff he announced in late September.

Trump posted on Truth Social on Sept. 25 that “Heavy (Big!) Trucks” made outside the United States would be subject to a 25 percent tariff beginning Oct. 1. But those tariffs were never formally imposed.

Trump has framed the tariffs as a way to protect the trucking industry, which is critical to moving goods around the United States.

The president has previously announced tariffs on automobile imports, steel and aluminum, copper, furniture and other goods. He has also announced steep tariffs on imported pharmaceuticals, only for the White House to say they are being delayed amid negotiations with drugmakers.

I don't need a new Truck yet but when I do I'm buying this...

This is designed to put pressure on PM Carney as he arrives tomorrow and/or give him a "break" on some tariffs while he already increased them on these trucks.

Trump is always playing 3D chess. Even when his mind is running a mile a minute, at the end of the string when it all unrolls he knows where he wants to be.

I would be willing to assist PM Carney but I don't think the Creepy Ones want Canada to win. I am always available to patriots, they know how they can reach me after decades of abuses against me.
