Trump says if he wins, this will be last election.

Advocating disenfranchising political opponents – the right’s war on democracy continues.

As the pressure on Donald Trump increases from his criminal and civil trials, he is now publicly proclaiming that he is the Chosen One, selected by “god” and “Jesus Christ” to be the next President of the United States (which if Trump and his agents get their way will mean that he is the country’s first dictator and ruler for life).

During a speech in Iowa last weekend, Trump told his MAGA cultists that, “But I think if you had a real election and Jesus came down and God came down and said, ‘I’m going to be the scorekeeper here,’ I think we’d win there [in California], I think we’d win in Illinois, and I think we’d win in New York.”

I don't get the comparison. Trump's constant rants about the economy, employment, him having the election stolen from him, his instigation of the insurrection attempt and a host of other things are demonstrably wrong. Basing your vote on his claims is just wrong.
Hey, your TDS is your problem.

A wise person once wrote " the tone of my response says a lot more about you than it does about me." A reasonable remark based in reality will receive the same from me, even if we happen to disagree. An absurd insulting remark based on some silly conspiracy theory will receive a much different response.
You bear the burden you tried to lay on me.

Trump told Turning Point Action, a Christian group, that if they vote for him this time, that in four years he will have it fixed so there wouldn't be any more reason to vote. He has already said he would be a dictator on day one and made references to being president for life, so with project 2025 and his newly gifted ability to be immune for anything he might do, I don't see how we can do anything but take him at his word. If, on the other hand, he was just off on another indecipherable rant, he's not mentally stable enough to be elected anyway. I believe he intends to do exactly what he says.

That's because he intends on honoring is two term limit and not taking democracy away.

I'm sure the thread has gotten far off-topic by now.

Trump was specifically addressing Christians. So when he told them that they would not need to vote again after four years of Trump, he meant that their Christian beliefs would not require them to vote for one particular candidate after this election.

He - of course - did not mean that there would never be another election again, or any other such nonsense.

Warms my heart to know that Trump can trigger liberals this badly with an off-the-cuff remark, not even made to them or about them.

You're an insane person.

He was, but he had people in his Admin that were willing to say "no, Mr President you cannot do that". He will not have that this time, this time he will only have people that will say "yes, that is a great idea, but take it even further".

He wants to replace career civil servants with people that are loyal to him. Not loyal to the country, not loyal to the Constitution, but to him.

And you are cheering it on.
So let’s follow your logic here. The guy who aims to be a dictator is only stopped because some one on the staff said no. I don’t know or hangout with many dictators but I imagine one of their common traits is not taking no very well. But lets just say that you are right. If Trump gets elected wins every vote, clones himself and by some miracle of science all his clones are adults by January next year and his entire staff is just a bunch of Trump clones so there's no chance anyone will tell him no. Given this scenario, how does he become dictator of the US.

So the President wants to have civil servants who will enact his agenda not decide that they know better than him/her and do what they want not what the President wants.... That's what should happen regardless of who the President is. Part of the problem with the administrative state is that civil servants keep substituting their judgement for the person who;s in charge. What happens to Company Commanders who ignore the Bn Commander's intent and just go off on their own agenda.

And Im not cheering anything on Im just pointing out how utterly stupid and ridiculous this narrative is.

That one is easy.

He told the governors he would give them a national response plan for covid.

30 days later he told them **** you, just kidding, and left them to scramble to cobble together 50 of their own plans.

Instead, he golfed and watched FOX.

30 days later.

That affected everyone. In many ways.

Want another?

Trumps ill-advised tax cuts for the rich partially drove inflation. When 90% of America had to tighten it's belt as inflation spiked, the richest among us had to do so less.
You and I would agree that Trump's handling/reaction to COVID was terrible but probably not for the same reasons.

Triggered by your own nonsense.? LOL You're a hoot johnboi.
How exactly am I triggered, dummy? You're the one that says it's ok to break into the Capitol but not your home. You're a hypocrite.
