Canadian authorities are smarter than I am I guess.

No problem, just another 10% as the Creepy Ones destroy citizens lives here.

Remember, I'm just the Messenger. I don't know who the genius is who suggested it was smart to advertise against Trump before the midterms and Supreme Court decision but here is something Americans should know, Trump is unable to do the same in Canada due to our laws which prevent foreign political influence in our media.

U.S. President Donald Trump has announced on social media he will be increasing “the Tariff on Canada” by 10 per cent “over and above what they are paying now" because of an advertisement by the Ontario government.

“Canada was caught, red handed, putting up a fraudulent advertisement on Ronald Reagan’s Speech on Tariffs,” Trump wrote on his platform Truth Social.

“Their Advertisement was to be taken down, IMMEDIATELY, but they let it run last night during the World Series, knowing it was a FRAUD,” the U.S. president added.

Dude.

Ffs.

You're a useful idiot for the US.
I'm a victim pal. You know nothing about what it's like to have decades of your life stolen, marriages and soon my home.

The apparatuses in this country have decimated our economy, Trump is just counter punching foolish decisions to meddle in the U.S political environment. These decisions by Canadian politicians run counter to my opinion.

Trump is a child. He demands that everyone bow down to him, if not he'll punish them.

Why would anyone care if in Ontario there's an advert that shows what Reagan thinks about tariffs?

But Trump does. Shows just how megalomaniac he is.

Reagan used tariffs too and he was living in ENTIRELY different circumstances. America was the global economic manufacturer at that time, there was no communist China.

Do you think Reagan would be negotiating with a Communist country on a trade deal, especially considering how much they are making in trade surplus and Western industries?

No chance in hell. No one dares raise that issue though, they point to "Reagan is against Tariffs". That was 40 years ago for the love of G-d.

Yes, a different world. Would Reagan be talking with China? Definitely. He was talking with the USSR.

He wasn;t losing 10s of thousands of factories to them or watching them run $100s of Billions PER YEAR in trade surpluses.

Trump has to protect the U.S markets from the same nations who protected theirs far worse, in tariff and non-tariff barriers, especially Europe and China.

Did you seriously just type that?

Sure. That's why he's taxing the import of goods to the US from countries that don't fit that victimised scenario.

So in our orange manchilds view the actual words Reagan said are fraudulent…

1) Money isn't everything. The US has good relations with Canada. This is important.

2) The supposed "trade surplus" is one of those things that Trump looks as something, thinks it's simple and goes with it.

"taking the trade in both goods and services into account, it actually has an overall trade surplus with Canada." This was from 2017.

"Without energy trade (oil and gas, other fuels and fuel products, and electricity), which the United States needs to sustain its industrial competitiveness, the United States would register a trade surplus of US$63.2 billion with Canada"

So, a big part of the reason there's a trade surplus, is because the US needs to import oil. The US needs that oil, the US buys the oil and makes a lot of money from that oil. They'll often take that oil, turn it into something else, and then sell it.
3) Who owns these companies?

Most of the companies that export oil are public companies with shares. Who owns the shares?

Take Canadian Natural Resources

The top two owners of shares are American companies. In fact of the ownership of 50% of shares on this list, 45% is AMERICAN.

So, a "Canadian company" exports Canadian oil to the US, making a trade deficit, but really it's an American company exporting oil so the US economy can boom.

It makes NO SENSE to attack Canada for a trade surplus, because most of the "trade surplus" is with AMERICANS, not Canadians.

Trump is literally putting tariffs on US shareholders. He's an IDIOT.

I was.referring to China specifically and Europe to a lesser extent. Canadas issue has been transnational cheating, violating citizens rights (as I share on here and have shared with multiple U.S administrations), and, non-tariff barriers such as blocking equal access to banking, dairy and telecom etc. Canada has stolen decades of my life, interferred in my marriage, encouraged violence against me, is stealing my home through lawfare...do you think this is how a.democracy should operate? Should they be rewarded for this? .Trump experienced his own brand of abuses by the state, maybe Canada and Europe should embrace more of what the U.S Constitution demands and not what hurt Trump and his family. If a.nation is cheating on human rights, you have to assume they.are cheating on trade, job tampering and fair market access.

Reagan would have blocked 90% of trade with communist China and thrown 100,000 Chinese citizens/spies back to Beijing. Do you agree with that? Reagan was dealing with an entirely different world 40 years ago, from U.S debt to the state of its enemies. The ads were political.interference and a self harmint decision. So much so that you couldn't run the same types of ads in Canada since our laws block them. Email Trumps administration and ask them to retaliate with ads against Doug Ford in Canada, you will learn quickly that our system won't allow it

Mostly your post seems to be you bitter about your own country, rather than talking about the topic.

A "democracy" is about how people vote. It doesn't have anything to do with the laws that are made as a result. I prefer Proportional Representation and you don't have this. Still not anything to do with the topic.

If you want "cheating", then the US is one the kings of cheating.

You dont have fair market access to.Canadas markets, yet, you have a free trade agreement with Canada. How.does that work? There is a reason Canadians are broke...we protect oligopolies and pay the price of this lack of competition.

So, the people have the right to vote, they do vote, and then they act like that's all their responsibility?

Sounds like the US. I've been coming on here for 11 years talking about Proportional Representation, and I'd bet 99% of people on this forum have no clue what it is, don't care, not interested.
