The shooter could have been Gover Norquist, the spotter could have been Newt Gingrich, and the guy who sold him the bullets could have been Lindsay Graham and these guys would still insist it was a democratic party plot to kill Trump.
I think what really bothers them is that unlike beloved figures in the past who were the victims of such attempts, the reaction of most people is to just sort of chalk it up to karma.
