Mike Johnson defends stock (insider?) trading to support their families.

He says $174 annual plus expenses and perks aren't enough. This comes from the head of Congress that creates inflation. Nancy Pelosi, in other words. is a good provider. Let them eat cake. Speaker Mike Johnson says congressional members are paid peanuts, need to trade stocks to support their families

Johnson is correct in a way. 174K is not much if you have to maintain two residences. Another good reason for congressional barracks. They could be bussed to and from every day.

They could stay there while congress is in session rather than having to pay rent/mortgage on a second home in the DC area.

I bet they would be more inclined to get shit done and get out of DC too.

Barracks would also be a good way to teach humility and comradery.....When you are using the same facilities you have to learn to get along with others.

When you are standing in line for a bus you are the same as the next person in line.

My bet is congress would run much smoother with that "one simple trick".

Of course you would have to have someone to run it.
