Trump: Paul Ryan Won’t Be Speaker of the House

How can Trump insure that wont happen? The vote to select the speaker is next week is it not? I mean I know he can tell him he wants him to step down and I am sure Ryan would to hold the GOP together but I don't understand how else he can do it.

Simply speaking, he might not do it.
It was more of rhetorical statement due to Speaker Ryan's occasional betrayal of his campaign. Ryan may not be the ideal candidate for the job, but it is not a great time to for such drastic change to take place within the Republican party now. The focus should be uniting the party and defeating the left. With a united Republican majority in both the house and the senate, president Trump should be able to move forward with his plans much easier.
