Former vice presidents typically get federal government protection for six months after leaving office, while ex-presidents do so for life. But then-President Joe Biden quietly signed a directive that had extended protection for Harris beyond the traditional six months, according to another person familiar with the matter.

It's changed since the last time I looked. I do believe though that the most recent poll in California showed Newsom on top. If Harris can't win in her home state, I say she's toast. But, Harris has the advantage in that California isn't the first primary state.
