Trump removes Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook from office, citing fraud allegations

I don't go by other people's recitation of anti-Trump propaganda, talking points, twists on what actually happened.

You'll have to come up with reasonable sources/evidence to back up those kinds of charges. And that evidence has to be something better than some TDS infected anti-Trump person's opinion.

President Trump, among other things, was elected because of his commitment to drain the swamp as much as he is able.

As much as he is able, he is doing that. Lisa Cook is just one tiny part of that.

And the anti-American people will continue to blame, accuse, characterize, fault him with their opinions just as they always have.

Do you think the federal government spends much time investigating and prosecuting people for claiming two primary residences?

They don't.

Do you think it just so happens to be a coincidence that a person Trump opposes is facing such an uncommon criminal referral?

There is no indictment and the only reason there's any investigation into her mortgages at all is because she angered Trump.

That's lawfare.

Firing people is not lawfare, but it's often a form of authoritarianism. This administration is firing people for obviously ridiculous reasons that have nothing to do with what you're claiming. Michael Feinberg was told to resign or be demoted because he was friends with Peter Strzok. It's nuts.

She appears to have lied, more than once, about her primary residence in mortgage applications.

No one is above the law.

Ken Paxton did the exact same thing. Is he above the law?

Democrats believe Democrats are above the law, so...
Well I was incorrect that Lisa has been indicted. But the documents do definitely indicate mortgage fraud. Whether she will be indicted is anybody's guess but I would guess myself that the Administration won't bother. They will be content to use that to get rid of one more swamp creature, but won't otherwise punish her.

The Trump administration is ridding the country of swamp creatures who should not be in the government. I suspect they'll use anything legally they have to use to do that. And they should.

It it what the majority of voters voted for. It is promises made. Promises kept.

Why do you consider Lisa Cook to be a "swamp creature who should not be in the government"?

I believe the only reason she is drawing the ire of the right is because she isn't doing what Trump wants her to do.

Good! The statute seems to give him this authority.

More importantly, the Federal Reserve is part of which branch? It certainly isn't its own branch, as the Constitution has not been amended.

Here we go! Fasten your seatbelts.

President Donald Trump ousted Federal Reserve Governor Lisa Cook on Monday, alleging she lied on mortgage forms by declaring two primary residences.
In a letter to Cook, Trump said the Federal Reserve Act provides that she can be removed at his discretion.
"As set forth in the Criminal Referral dated August 15, 2025, from Mr. William J. Pulte, Director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, to Ms. Pamela Bondi, Attorney General of the United States…there is sufficient reason to believe you may have made false statements on one or more mortgage agreements," Trump wrote. "For example, as detailed in the Criminal Referral, you signed one document attesting that a property in Michigan would be your primary residence for the next year.
"Two weeks later, you signed another document for a property in Georgia stating that it would be your primary residence for the next year," Trump continued. "It is inconceivable that you were not aware of your first commitment when making the second. It is impossible that you intended to honor both."

Some channel on YouTube said Trump is trying to take over or remake the Fed into a Trump puppet. We will see.

trump pointing up.webp

Irrelevant to the facts presented in response to your intentional falsehood.
It's very relevant. The fact is that these violations are almost never prosecuted and it's no coincidence it's being pursued against Cook, whom has drawn the ire of the Trump administration.

The fact that no one really thinks Ken Paxton is in any serious trouble would be indicative that this isn't about "the law", and we all know it, even if you don't want to admit it.

Your post is completely irrelevant to the facts presented in response to your intentional falsehood.
When it comes to demonstrating political persecution, it helps to compare disparate treatment amongst people with different political affiliations. In this case, Ken Paxton and Lisa Cook.

You seem pretty desperate to ignore this.

Worse than what?
Even worse that Lisa Cook. Ken Paxton claimed THREE mortgages as primary and took a homestead tax credit on two of them.

Dude committed tax fraud in addition to mortgage fraud.

But we both know that he's going to be just fine.
