Trump purges at least 12 Inspector Generals.

My questions don't imply IG's prosecute.
My point was IG investigations turn up all sorts of laws being broken/not followed and rules violations with no accountability from Congress.
So if Congress doesn't like TRUMP using his powers by firing IG without notifying Congress they can take it up with SCOTUS or STFU.

Since it is a violation of the 1976 law for Trump to fire any Inspector General without the 30 day notice and hearing, then Trump would have to be impeached and prosecuted.

The SCOTUS has nothing to do with it except their role in impeachment proceedings.

Thanks....The "law" has no teeth.

BTW....It's 17 IGs now.

All laws automatically have teeth.
When a president violates a law, his is immune until congress decides to impeach and convict.
A president could be removed from office over a parking violation if it were willful enough.

The whole point of civil servant laws like for Inspector Generals, is that you can not let a new president pack the administration with only those loyal to the president, because then there is no one left to report crimes.

Horseshit.

IG's don't report crimes.

Civil service Inspector Generals who can NOT be arbitrarily fired with a hearing, are essential any honest republic.

Congress has plenty of oversight.

This last 4 years they completely abused it.

Fuck em. Let em whine.

Government is NOTHING at all like a business.
A business is run at the pleasure of the owner who makes all the arbitrary decisions.
A republic is for the benefit of all the citizens instead, so has to protect all of them from anyone with power.
The president is the boss. Of the Executive Branch. Which is where the IG's live.

Go for it. You tried already, and failed every time. Go for it, try again. Maybe it'll help the Congressional approval rating. :p

They will if the leftards try using lawfare again. SCOTUS will eat them for lunch.
