Trump picks conspiracy theorist with no medical license to replace Fox News contributor as Surgeon General

Maybe you just don't understand. I'll help.

My wife is a physician and is required to renew her licensing every x number of years. Those younger than her do not have the same requirement. They take it once and they are good forever. My wife has taken it many times over the years. If my wife chose not to take it when it was due, she would not be licensed. That would not make her less qualified to make medical decisions, particularly in a job like the Surgeon General, that does not require those decisions to be made. It is an executive position for someone that has medical knowledge. Clearly this Stanford MD grad has that.
You’re talking to the wall man.

This person washed out of her residency.

I'm guessing your wife did not.

You’re confusing medical licensing with board certification.

Yes, I meant board certification. My main point still stands. Why would an executive position require her to be licensed to practice medicine? She completed medical school at a prestigious University and at least a couple of years of residency. I fail to see how that makes her unqualified for the position.

It’s a convenient way to frame her lack of experience.

Medical school and a few years of residency is an exceedingly weak resume when it comes to one of the highest positions in government that deals specifically with the medical system.

This woman has never independently practiced medicine.

And yet many college professors have never run a business in their life and teach business and economics. They've never left the friendly confines of a university campus. Funny how that works.

Would you take a fresh MBA and make them CEO of a multi-billion dollar company?

But they went to Stanford! lol

You forgot one thing. The left bases many of their economic policies on the opinions of these inexperienced professors.

And in the Catholic church, the priest is not allowed to have ever been married yet gives his congregation advice on marriage.

Stop trying to change the topic.

The surgeon general hasn’t ever practiced medicine independently. She’s very inexperienced. She’s not qualified to provide medical care to anyone, but is supposed to be the “nation’s doctor”.

You don’t have to defend everything Trump does. You can think for yourself.

I merely pointing out the utter hypocrisy the situation.

Utter hypocrisy is claiming that you’re leading a meritocracy but elevating inexperienced and unaccomplished people to the highest levels of government.

Again, your entire party's platform is based on the advice from inexperienced "experts". I'll condemn Trump's appointment of this Surgeon General if you stop listening to all the liberal nuts in academia. Deal?

That's illogical. You should be exercising independent thought about her qualifications. My opinions have nothing to do with it.

You won't disapprove of her because Trump appointed her and you don't actually exercise independent thought.

And you won't approve of her despite your entire party's platform being based on opinions from people just like her in their areas of "expertise". Where is the independent thought process in that?

Last I checked, Vivek Murthy was well credited academic physician with a history of working on public health issues.

If you think that's equivalent to finishing a "couple" years of residency, then you're pretty delusional.
