Well the NyTimes link explains the story well, but if you can’t read the NyTimes link, it pretty much says USA has given $11 billion dollars to Ukraine so far in 2025, but Trump has paused further military aid to Ukraine for weapons.

Zelenskyy says he’s willing to buy $15 billion dollars worth of patriot missile systems though from USA. NyTimes link also says Trump would consider selling the missile systems though to Ukraine.. Etc., etc., etc.

My question is though, didn’t Trump sign a minerals deal with Ukraine? Wouldn’t this violate the minerals deal made a few months ago..?

Anyone know what’s up with this?

Yeah, the pause is real—but it’s not a full cutoff. Trump and the Pentagon say it’s a “capability review” to make sure U.S. stockpiles don’t run too thin. Ukraine’s still getting intel and support, and after a call with Zelenskyy, reports say Patriot shipments will likely resume soon. Germany may step in too.

The timing’s rough, no doubt—Russia definitely took the opportunity to send a message.
But this looks more like logistical juggling and political positioning than a broken deal or abandonment.

The call with Putin went badly, Putin is not interested in a ceasefire or an end to the war.

Anyone with any understand of Putin would know that.

Every time Trump went to Putin, Putin played games. Using spy speech, promising vague things like "I want peace". Everyone knows when Putin says "I want peace" it means "I want to defeat the Ukraine and have peace", not "I will give up now".

It's that simple. Doesn't take a genius to understand that, but Trump keeps going back for more being made a fool of by Putin. Trump isn't anywhere near Putin's level.
