The pardon power has been abused by both parties. It needs to be reigned in. The pardon power is nothing more now than a tool to award your friends and forgive their crimes. It is in essence a license to steal…at least for those with friends in high places or those with enough money to grease their palms.

I agree. Trump has monetized the pardon power. However, I could never get over Clinton’s pardon of Marc Rich among others for example. It was abused then, and it is being abused more than ever now.
