With your history, it is not surprising you miss proximity to the ocean. We like to visit Florida, but not stay more than a week or so, at a time. The only places we really like are houses on the beach, and we absolutely cannot afford it. 3 miles in from beach it is unbearable hot and humid, in other parts, I don't like the cities, toll roads and some of the nutballs down there. Cohen wanted to get back in Trump's good graces by paying Stormy Daniels to keep her mouth shut for once.
Trump found out later what Cohen had done.
BTW, there is no law against paying hush money to someone who's blackmailing you.

The difference is I paid attention to the legal arguments during the trial including reading the documents and transcripts that were made publicly available.

Which is why the "tax" thing is actually minor, Trump's major problem was paying Daniels by laundering the money through his corporate entity to his lawyer who was convicted of federal felony campaign violations as an attempt to evade FEC reporting and hide the commission of Cohen's crime. That attempting to hide the crime of another by falsification of business records is what raised the falsification from a misdemeanor to a felony.
