On the Iran war issue yesterday was a day of outstandingly good developments because President Donald Trump said words to the effect that he sees military operations in Iran ending in two to three weeks and it doesn't matter if the Iranian government enters into any type of agreement with us we will be leaving. This is exactly what the American people want and need to hear because the only other option is for the U.S, to deploy ground forces and that would be a complete and total utter disaster because a lot of American solders will get killed and seriously wounded and for what any substantive mission put forth its achievability would be in grave doubt. Sometimes wisdom calls for dropping your effort because the costs of continuing are great and it makes no sense to continue and this is one of those times for America!
What my big fear is that Democrats in Congress are going to do what Democrat Congressman Pat Ryan of New York did last night on the Kaitlan Collins' CNN program where he basically took the opportunity to score political points, to take political advantage, against President Trump and not support the announced policy which is best for the American people and you know what this political crucifying of President Trump could do is it could cause him to reverse course and enter into a ground war in Iran so he doesn't look like a failure or that he lost! What Congressman Ryan did was say things like President Trump's answer "cannot be abandoning and leaving a huge mess in its place" and I don't know how he could expect this war to end without an agreement and when Kaitlan Collins asked would you like the war to end tonight or do you believe the Strait of Hormuz issue needs to be resolved and who controls it? - He was evasive where Congressman Ryan's answer should have been yes I would like the war to end tonight It was an illegal and immoral war lets end it now and hope that the Iranian government will make the smart play and reopen the Strait of Hormuz because this war's continuation offers no real tangible benefit and risk's the Iranian regime continuing the conflict for an extended period of time which means a lot of innocent people around the world continue to be harmed!
Seriously when President Trump gives his White House address tonight on Iran if he reiterates what he announced yesterday Democrats need to support this, this isn't a political game American service members lives are on the line Democrats should consider this like we got our War Powers Resolution that we have be trying to get enacted for the last month approved America's military action will stop and this illegal and immoral war can be ended! Frankly, I think if the Trump Administration ends this war the Strait of Hormuz will open up in a timely manner because the government of Iran has everything to gain by this move and a hell of a lot to lose by continuing it. Currently, all Iran's relationships with its current Arab nation's are repairable yes oil and gas infrastructure was damaged but it wasn't devastated it is repairable in a timely fashion and it is understandable what the Iran government did when faced with military attacks threatening their existential existence they made the whole world feel pain to pressure America and Israel to stop their war it was ruthless but the Arab governments of !ran's neighbors are ruthless in their own way so
I could see these neighbors say we will let this go and move forward all being friends!
The problem for President Trump is those Republicans like former Republican Presidential candidate Nikki Haley who recently said the Trump administration has gone this far with their ten thousand sorties they might as well continue and remove the regime! There is a whole huge bloc in Congress like this which I call the "regime change" Republicans the alarming problem with these "regime change" Republicans is that they don't want to appreciate the cost to the American people in embarking on a regime change war; Iran has one million men under arms they are well versed in fighting like terrorists and insurgents this war when it is finally resolved could turn into another Vietnam war for America with tens of thousands of American solders dead and a hundred plus thousand wounded! The American people don't want this and won't tolerate this, you regime change Republicans this is not a viable option!
One last point I often question the truthfulness of President Trump's assertions but I believe he is accurate on this one point considering Iran's Navy and Iran's Air Force and Iran's air defense and the various other Iran military assets destroyed or majorly degraded in this year and last year's war it will take Iran fifteen to twenty years to replace these systems. Assuming Iran's current regime is more hard line and unlike the pre-war regime will definitely seek to build nuclear missiles the regime is not stupid they will want to survive and thrive when they become a nuclear weapon country and the only hope that this can be accomplished is to build all these aforementioned military systems into a strong state which will take another fifteen years because it takes money to accomplish this and Iran's source of money is oil and gas revenue which rational thought would determine would require at least a fifteen year window to generate the monies needed to accomplish this goal! I know this sounds strange with how the international community views America today but when this day comes fifteen years from now when Iran is militarily rebuilt and begins it aggressive pursuit of nuclear missiles America could have a President the world trusts and respects and that President could very well lead a force of the countries of the willing which could create an international armed force of immense size to actually carry out a regime change in Iran. It could be done very smartly where this international force would not occupy Iran for over two years the international force would completely destroy all significant military infrastructure throughout the country and incarcerate all the old regimes leaders for a ten year period so they don't threaten Iran's new leaders and hold free and fair elections to elect new leaders. The international community could make it a crime punishable by at least ten years in prison for a scientist or engineer to help the government of Iran build nuclear weapons so when this international force goes into Iran they could arrest all these Iranian nuclear scientists building nuclear weapons for Iran and ship them off to the Hague for prosecution and imprisonment so Iran would be feckless to rebuild their nuclear weapons program. Further, the international community could have an international law enacted that says if Iran builds a nuclear bomb then Iran is banned from possessing any type of nuclear reactor for fifty years so when the international force goes into Iran to denuclearize them they could subject all of Iran' s nuclear plants to complete demolition! A smart and good U.S. President could accomplish this because a highly militant Islamist Iranian regime with nuclear weapon is an intolerable danger to the entire world and good and smart leaders throughout the world would understand this; for one reason this Iranian regime fights in an asymmetrical manner meaning if they have nuclear weapons and as shown they have intercontinental ballistic missile technology they would likely not engage in a nuclear war solely with Israel they would fire their nuclear missiles at other nuclear weapon countries to try to get multiple nuclear wars going on throughout the world to deter an attack on Iran, the world could see tens of millions of civilians dying from this type of Iranian strategy - this danger could not be allowed to exist! This type of international response is definitely feasible that is what the international community did in throwing Saddam Hussein's Iraqi army out of Kuwait in the 1990's!
