We need to be able to build enough products at home to get us to survive in a world much worse if it happens. If we did this with Covid, we would have weathered it much better. Everything is supply chain. Over and over. Those trade deals some decades ago were not that good. I remember proponents saying we will move to a new way of living. From the industrial/production ways to the service industry. A lot of fast food and lower paying restaurant employment is in there among other fields.

That is what Trump ran on. He wanted to focus on bringing manufacturing back to the USA. How does partnering in a data center in the UAE do that. The pay back is UAE investing in the US. Do we want foreign entities owning our factories and other businesses. The ideaa is to have Americans invest in the USA not in other countries.
If the UAE wants to have their products manufactured in USA factories owned by Americans, great.
