Clearly this is a matter of power dynamic. For instance, Trump showed this video respectfully to get his point across, it was fine. He wouldn't do the same if President Xi were there though as he is more concerned about the economic relationship (which is why many think America should hold them accountable and cut out critical economic activity)

It is great that his government is calling out abuses whether they are in South America, Europe, Africa, China wherever. Nations have to continue to do that.
