It takes time to get guardsmen to and from DC They are also most likely rotating people in and out, so the likelihood of anyone getting 30 consecutive days would be slim. They are probably using this as their 14 day annual training obligation.

they get paid even if they are there a couple of weeks and get rotated out......National Guard members receive pay for every day they are on active duty, regardless of the duration of the deployment.......
