I generally agree with you but there is something I take exception too.. I am a Christian, maybe not a great one but I believe in the main core of the religion which is the teachings of Christ...

I would argue that it is the Evangelicals that left Christ and not me...
I would point to Mathew 16:26 'What good will it be for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?'

You see to me being a good Christian is actually very hard... It involves being accepting of differences even when it makes you uncomfortable, it is about forgiveness when asked for, being humble and honest, listening instead of preaching,.... There is so many things...

But I can't see this in the a lot Evangelical's stances... they have seemed to have lost there way, sold there souls for a perceived gain... I see them as prodigal sons who have to be given the opportunity to return and learn from there mistake and hopefully not let it happen again.
